PRO DAPL
http://www.prodapl.com/
A new website created by the Dakota Access Pipeline slicksters is the PRODAPL.COM website. This slanted and biased “news” page pushes pro pipeline and anti-Native propaganda in a very unabashed manner. To do this, they employ a propaganda technique called Card Stacking. Card stacking is a propaganda technique that seeks to manipulate audience perception of an issue by emphasizing one side and repressing another. Such emphasis may be achieved through media bias or the use of one-sided testimonials, or by simply censoring the voices of critics. This propaganda technique does not provide all of the information necessary for the reader to make an informed decision. It uses arguments that support their position, but ignores or even denies the arguments against. Card stacking, or selective omission, is one of the seven techniques identified by the IPA, or Institute for Propaganda Analysis. It involves only presenting information that is positive to an idea or proposal and omitting information contrary to it. Card stacking is used in almost all forms of propaganda, and is extremely effective in convincing the public – especially those who are looking for information to support their personal prejudices. The best way to deal with card stacking is to get more information.
