Water is sacred, it gives life to everything and without water there is no life. Non-violent direct action Water Protectors have tried to stop construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline (aka DAPL), which will traverse four states.

The Water Protectors are concerned oil will leak into the tribe’s water supply. Other tribes and environmental groups are among those who have joined the tribe’s cause and as of Sept. 26, 2016 there are 280 nations and allies with more than 4,000 people making Standing Rock the 15th largest city in No. Dakota, but they need OUR help.

3 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT INDIGENOUS EFFORTS AGAINST THE DAKOTA ACCESS PIPELINE

1. It’s Not Political – It’s Life and Death
2. This Is a Women-Led Issue ~ Women are the protectors of water and life
3. Our Movement Is Non-Violent Direct Action ~ No guns. No drugs or alcohol. Protect and care for others in the camp.

POLICE ATROCITIES AT STANDING ROCK:

Militarized Police from beating people with batons; shootings to the face with rubber bullets and bean bags rounds; high voltage stuns guns held directly to Protectors bodies for prolonged periods of time, tasers with electrical pronged hooks incapacitating people; pepper spraying women and Elders; flash bang explosions permanently damaging hearing. Spirit Riders shot multiple times with rubber bullets at close range and from helicopters flying 15 feet over their heads. Horse’s intentionally injured by police projectiles at close range, buffalo shot from helicopters and left to die in fields. Tipi’s and tents torn down, clothing and household items seized then dumped in by the side of the road after having been urinated on. Spiritual items lost or stolen; a ceremonial drum appropriated and impounded?

There have been over 524 felony arrests of peaceful, unarmed people worshiping in prayer circles and sweat lodges with no charges filed and no access to legal counsel; Medics were barred from assisting the wounded and arrested, their medical equipment seized. Journalists taken into custody, their cameras and equipment confiscated. Media blackouts, surveillance devises blocking transmission and reception signals. Protectors were required to remove all of their clothing, bend over, squat, and cough. Searches took place in bathrooms and cells in front of male and female guards then arrestee’s were stuffed into dog kennels, numbers written on forearms keeping Nazi tradition alive. Jailers forced arrestee’s to give DNA samples violating their privacy and constitutional rights. Serious medical conditions went untreated. Guard’s refused to allow phone calls to attorney’s, denied access to the restroom, food, water or blankets which left people hungry, thirsty and without clothing to sleep on frigid concrete floors. DAPL will do anything possible, include the threat of death and violence to get this pipeline through. DO NOT LET MAINSTREAM MEDIA LIE TO YOU. Protectors are facing the threat of death simply for protecting water and preserving history.

DAILY LIVING

Originally fully self-supporting, the camps with large numbers of people arriving daily have increased the need for supplies essential in accommodating everyone. Presently there are 670 plus people to feed requiring trips to the market every 2 days, approximating $4,000 per trip. Thanks to gifts and donations the camp has also been able to provide blankets, sleeping bags, jackets, thermal wear, socks, hats and gloves, tiny houses, tepees, yurts, a medical area, a storage area, composting toilets and waste management services, generators powered by solar panels and wind, all due to the generosity of supporters… Although so many have been generous, our fight is not over and every little bit helps! Please find it in your heart to continue supporting those fighting for us all.

The horses on site are very important for morale and for healing of the humans. Helping the horses is the very best thing I can do to throw myself into this wave of change. Urgent Medic Supply List:
Enter medichealercouncil@gmail.com for the recipient email.

This list does not direct things to The Mni Wiconi clinic nor does it reflect the supply lines of Red Warrior Camp medical. Please find their info on their sites. We function as the central coordination unit between all the medic and healer spaces (who we know of) at all the various locations at camp.

We’ve refrained from posting any supply lists or funding streams yet because we wanted to make sure we knew exactly what our medics and healers were in need of, on the ground, at this moment.

Here is our medical supply list that is top priority. It’s a short, but extremely important list. Please consider helping us (those who need urgent medical care) either financially or by sharing this list widely.

We do not need painkillers (advil, tylenol, etc) at this moment, so please refrain from sending those, as to not burdening our medics with more logistics and sorting 🙂

Note: We are also requesting Amazon eGift cards which we will use to purchase items as needed. On the list, it shows only a $100 option; however, if you click “See all buying options” it allows purchase of smaller amount eGift cards.

THREE REASONS WHY WE DESPERATELY NEED YOUR SUPPORT:

1) Standing Rock EMS had to pull their operations at camp, partially because they are inundated with the regular calls from the rest of the reservation and could not allocate their resources to our camp (read about the historical/social reasons why public health is highly understaffed and underfunded on reservations for more info).

2) The ND state government is basically taking an apathetic at best and hostile at worst attitude towards the wellbeing of those at the camps: (pulling WASH stations the same day that they declared a formal “state of emergency”)

3) The nearest ambulance service outside the reservation (Bismarck-Metro) has a response time averaging about 45 minutes. That’s an eternity when someone is in need of life-saving care; which means that we, as good samaritan medics & healers, are effectively the only first responders here. We’ve come from all over the world, including from Standing Rock itself and are here first and foremost for the people and their wellbeing.

We love all of you supporters from afar and thank you greatly for your support.

    • Thank you for your support and the reblog.

Approximately 12:50 this morning (10-30-16) a vehicle was spotted zigzagging on the west side of Hwy 1806, the hillside was lit on fire. The vehicle then left the area. Approximately 1 am Law enforcement was notified, the 911 operator said there was no fire and hung up. Oceti Sakowin Camp drones have been able to spot and photograph a drip torch which was left behind.

The atrocities going on at Standing Rock No. Dakota. Police beating people with batons, shooting them with rubber bullets and bean bags in the face, pepper spraying women and the elders, killing horses and buffalo, arresting peaceful and praying unarmed people, including journalists. Media blackouts, MP3 sound-waves, flash bang explosions permanently damaging the ability to hear. Stuffing people into animal kennels, writing numbers on the arms like Nazi concentration inmates, stripping both men and women and cavity searching them. Refusing phone calls, food, water and blankets and left to sleep on concrete floors.
